I can and rave on about how I love this film, book and soundtrack, Air and Sofia Coppola. But I shall direct you over to The Style Rookie for further insights.

I'm always drawn to moody, jaded, prairie like fashion, photography and music. These types of themes always produce beautiful works in whatever medium.

Definitely listen to Air's soundtrack for The Virgin Suicides. It's perfection.

Friday's Fashion Inspiration

It's been a while since I've posted one of these bad boys. These looks are reflection of fall/ winter styles, that are in line with Sydney's horrible Christmas weather. I wish that by some stoke of luck we will encounter a massive snow blizzard. That would be awesome.

Off track now, red heads I love them. In all their freckle faced fierce glory. My fav is Taylor Tomasi Hill, the style and accessories director for US Marie Claire. Not only does she have impeccable style, but I love the way she mixes colour and prints into her daily looks. I'm the perennial black, white, and grey girl uniform type of girl. But as a 2012 style resolution, I'll try to inject a few colours of the rainbow in my daily wardrobe.

On the topic of tweed, how beautiful is that girl in the second last image, I can't stop looking at her. And her outfit is so simple and perfect. I was so inspired that I bought a tweed vintage jacket from Salvation Army not long ago. It's this crazy 80s baggy shape, but what tipped me over the edge was the gold cap detailing on the collar. I shall post it in my future 'Skins' post.

Have a great Christmas and New Year!

Skins #7

T-shirt; K-mart. Pants; ASOS. Shoes; Freelance. Leather Jacket; Zara. Belt; my sister's.

These shots were taken under the Harbour Bridge, on the way to The Sydney Theatre Company to watch Cate Blanchett in Gross Und Klein.
Cate was no less than perfect in this play. To see her in the flesh was out of this world, NIDA must be very proud to have her in their Alumni. A lot of people found this play quite confusing as there wasn't a specific storyline. What I interpreted from it was love and connection and the craziness of a person's mind. They say that theatre is a reflection of society and there were definitely themes in the play I coud relate to. The set design was also amazing, the use of divided walls to make the person feel big and small was very creative. As well as the use of the surrounding space. The music also related to the next scene and was quite modern, something that you would here on a radio station like FBI 94.5FM.

The play is in it's last week before it heads overseas. If you have time do see it! Visit The Sydney Theatre Company here.

Friday's Fashion Inspiration

Ok, so today's Fridays Fashion Inspiration is The Drums.

Indie band style is on my mind, that and the fact that I love these guys. Menswear is my favourite. I'm one of those girls that have quite a bit of mens clothes in my closet, like jeans, t-shirts, jackets/ jumpers and long sleeve shirts. Items that I've bought and stolen from my boyf and Dad.

I find that men's sizes fit better, which is ironic as I'm quite petite and I literally swim in said items. I also hate that they have better sneakers and brogues. Normally when I dream up magical pieces of clothing, I usually find them in the mens section. Maybe I was a boy in my past life... who knows.

Skins #6

Shirt: gifted Polo Ralph Lauren, Shorts: gifted Stubbies, Bag: thrifted, Shoes: thrifted

Looking like a child is what inspired yesterday's look. I woke up in the morning with a school boy feeling. The shorts are school boy Stubbies that my friend gave me, that's a great indication of how petite I am. I bought these lace up shoes from Camden Lock Market in London, a sweet little vintage shop with killer boots and dresses.

This was shot at Outpost on Cockatoo Island, a graffiti exhibition currently resides there. So if you are in Sydney, definitely check it out.

Friday's Fashion Inspiration

Today's inspiration is Intrigue Me Now, a fashion and photography student from London

She is such a beautiful woman, with great style. She is also a mother, and her son, pictured above, is the cutest little man I've ever seen. He too has impeccable clothes. How amazing is her shoe collection! I wouldn't mind borrowing a pair or too.

So make sure you head over to her blog to take a peep.

Skins #5

Dress: thrifted, Bag: vintage, Leather Jacket: Zara, Shoes: Rubi.

I haven't posted a Skins entry for ages, so here you go....

How amazing was yesterday's weather! Great pub kind of day. I headed down to Strawberry Hills Hotel for a few beers and lunch. Their rooftop beer garden was very appropriate. We then went to El Loco, as SHH isn't a child friendly venue. I can't get over El Loco's hot dogs and nacho salsa, yum. Might go back there this week.

Unfortunately, Felt and another girlfriend wasn't able to make it :( it would have been an even better day if she was there.

I thought, I'd take these Rubi shoes for a spin. My sister said I looked overly dressed, which I agree with. As my shoes of choice are normally brogues/ ballet flats/ Nike dunks/ Hudson boots; practical comfort. So I thought, why not change it up a bit and wear one of my many heels that collects dust in my room. It added a lot of inches to my average Asian height, so it was a bit disconcerting to be towering over people. Wedges are truly the most comfortable type of heels to wear. Do you think so too or is it just me?
